Arrival

Please arrive early so you don’t feel rushed in any way during your spa experience. Arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to change and begin the relaxation process. Appointments must start at the scheduled time to allow for full service. Late arrivals may be billed for the full service.

We will try to arrange an alternative appointment if these hours are not convenient for you.

Cancellations

We require a minimum of 24 hours notice for a cancellation, and 48 hours notice for packages or groups of 3 or more. Your gift certificate or credit card number secures your booking. Short notice cancellations result in a 25% charge; no-shows are billed at full price.

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates may be used for any of our Spa services or for retail products. If your gift certificate was for a particular service, we will honour the price for that service for six months. After that you we will charge the current price. Please note that gift certificates may not be redeemed for cash.

Gratuities

Gratuities are entirely at your discretion and may be given in recognition of service excellence.

Children

We ask that children not be brought into treatment areas of the spa unless they have a scheduled appointment.

Cell phones

In consideration of other clients, we ask that cell phones and pagers are turned off while you are at the spa.

Do I need to bring anything?

If your services include a pedicure, we suggest you bring open-toed sandals or flip-flops, since your toes will take some time before they’re fully dry. Other than that, you don't need to bring anything but yourself- we’ll provide you with a robe and slippers, and anything else you might need for your services. If you'd prefer, you may bring a swimsuit to wear in the hydrotherapy tub, although it is not necessary.

Will I have to undress for my services?

For manicures and pedicures, you can remain fully clothed. We suggest wearing loose pants, shorts, a skirt or capris if you want to keep your clothes on for a pedicure, as we need access to your legs from the knees down.
Reflexology can also be done fully clothed. For most other services, you will need to change into a robe or wrap. Our therapists are fully trained to protect your privacy during treatment, and you will always be draped to ensure your comfort.

Are there any medical problems or prescribed medications that would preclude me from having spa treatments?

There are certain medical conditions which would reduce the type of spa treatments available to an individual. You will be required to complete a health assessment form so that an appropriate spa experience may be provided for you. Most of our services are safe during pregnancy, but please inform our staff at the time you book, and we’ll make sure your services are appropriate for you. Services that include prolonged heat are contraindicated as too much heat can increase blood pressure. This includes body wraps, soaks, hydrotherapy and Hot Stone Therapy. Our Hydradermie facials and Non-surgical Face-lifting are also not recommended during pregnancy, as they use tiny electrical currents.

What's the difference between RMT Massage and other massages?

RMT Massage Therapy is a therapeutic massage performed by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) who has passed the Ontario RMT licensing exam. A therapeutic massage can be gentle or deep, depending on your own preference and health concerns or conditions.

Other specialist types of massage, such as Aromatherapy, MLD, or Hot Stone massage, may be performed by RMTs or by qualified estheticians.

What's MLD Massage?

MLD stands for Manual Lymphatic Drainage and is a very specific massage technique using gentle pressure to activate the lymphatic system which is the body’s immune system. This treatment can reduce edema (fluid retention), and aid in detoxification as it soothes and relaxes the body.

Is my massage covered under my extended health plan?

If your extended health plan covers massage therapy, please request a Registered Massage Therapist when you make your appointment. Only Therapeutic Massage is covered; other types of massage, although performed by RMTs, do not qualify. We will give you a receipt with the therapist’s registration number, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Why are mud and algae (seaweed) used in some treatments?

These natural resources are rich in minerals, absorbed for centuries from the natural resources of water, plants, and earth, and their medicinal properties are well documented.

Why is it important to drink liquids following spa treatments?

The body needs to be rehydrated following treatments that release toxins through perspiration.

Why do I feel weak or light-headed after some treatments?

Some treatments can be so relaxing that you might feel extremely lethargic following them, and even wanting to fall into a deep sleep. Your therapist will advise you to get up slowly following treatment to avoid light-headedness.

What are Body Scrubs and Wraps?

BODY SCRUBS use natural pastes made from substances such as sea salt, apricot kernels and sugar to exfoliate the skin. A hydrotherapy component can be used to rinse off the product, and is followed by an aromatherapy or Swedish massage. Any of these treatments promote the flow of nutrient-rich circulation and hydrate the skin.

BODY WRAPS have been used for centuries to promote the release of toxins through sweat and improve the metabolism. The original herbal wrap used natural linen sheets, soaked in therapeutic herbs which were wrapped snugly around the body. Many Body Wraps today include an application of warmed substances such as seaweed or mud, applied to the body as a mask. Then the client is wrapped in heated blankets. Body Wraps aid in detoxification and relaxation, and leave the skin hydrated.

What is a Brazilian Bikini Wax?

We usually describe a Brazilian wax "as little or as much as you'd like."
